About us

History

Carlos Gracie, who was interested in street self-defense, quickly modified the classical techniques he learned from Count Koma to meet the demands of real, “no rules” fighting in the streets of Brazil.

Rilion Gracie is the youngest son of the Grand Master Carlos Gracie Sr. (the founder of Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and the creator of MMA ). He has been involved in his father’s tradition since he was born.

No prior martial arts experience is required to start training in BJJ. Our classes are designed to accommodate beginners, and our experienced instructors provide step-by-step guidance to help you learn and progress at your own pace.

Wear comfortable, athletic clothing such as a T-shirt and athletic shorts. If you decide to continue with BJJ, we will set you up as a member of our school and you will have your own BJJ gi (uniform). Please remove any jewellery and keep your nails trimmed for safety.

Consistency is key. Starting with 2-3 classes per week is a good foundation. However, the frequency can vary based on individual goals and schedules. The more consistently you train, the faster you’ll see improvement in your skills and overall fitness.

BJJ provides a full-body workout that can contribute to weight loss and improved fitness. Engaging in regular training sessions, combined with a balanced diet, can be an effective way to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
